The second is June 30th from 10:30 am-1 pm in Detroit\, MI. Pick a date that works best for you! The home address will be emailed as the dates get closer. \nCamp Casey is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing joyful and therapeutic horseback riding experiences for children and families affected by childhood cancer\, sickle cell disease\, and other life-threatening illnesses. Founded in memory of a young horse enthusiast\, Casey Foote\, the organization offers three cost-free programs—Horsey House Calls\, Cowboy Camp Outs\, and Outlaw Outings—to over 1\,600 participants annually across Michigan. \nIn partnership\, MCACHE will be helping with activities such as horse grooming and safety lessons\, individual horseback rides\, team-building games\, arts and crafts projects\, hand-made horse treats\, and a pizza party! \n  \nThis event allows 10 volunteers at each event and will fill quickly so please register as soon as possible. He is co-founder of the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund and is widely recognized as the founder of the contemporary community rights movement which has resulted in the adoption of several hundred laws across the U.S. and world. He is a cum laude graduate of Widener Law School and sits on the Board of Advisors for the New Earth Foundation. Linzey is the author of Be The Change: How to Get What You Want in Your Community\, On Community Civil Disobedience in the Name of Sustainability\, and is co-author of We the People: Stories from the Community Rights Movement in the U.S. His work has been featured in the New York Times\, Los Angeles Times\, Mother Jones\, and the Nation Magazine. In 2018\, Linzey was named one of the top 400 environmentalists of the last 200 years by the American Environmental Leaders. \n  \nPanelists: \nWes Vins\, MD\, DPA\, Health Commissioner\, Columbiana County General Health District where he is responsible for executing the district’s public health programs\, initiatives and laws. Previously he served 11 years with the District Board of Health\, Mahoning County as a Sanitarian and Deputy Director of Environmental Health. She completed her internal Medicine residency at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren. In 2011\, Dr. Nickell joined ELCH as the Medical Director and Internal Medicine Program Director. Then in 2016\, Nickell was named Chief Medical Officer at ELCH. Despite the demanding role that she plays she continually looks for ways to meet the needs of the community. \n  \nLaura Fauss\, Environmental Director and Public Inforamtion Officer\, Columbiana County Health District\, Ms. Fauss has eighteen years of experience working in public health as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist. Most of her career was focused on household sewage treatment systems and private water wells. Ms. Fauss was the 2023 Northeast District Director of the Ohio Environmental Health Association\, where she also served on the Board. She is a graduate of the University of Mount Union with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology\, and received her Master’s Degree in Public Health with a concentration in Environmental Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. \n

SUMMARY:MCACHE Emerging Leaders Community Engagement Event - Food Gatherers
DESCRIPTION:MCACHE will be partnering with Food Gatherers to help process\, inspect\, and sort several tons of food donations from the community.  \nFood Gatherers is a non-profit organization that exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community. The food bank and food rescue program has been serving Washtenaw County since it was established in 1988. They rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. Food Gatherers provides a network of hunger relief and engages the public in the fight against hunger. In addition to the provision of food\, they advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.  \n  \nIn partnership\, we will assist with sorting food (such as produce)\, stocking their pantry with canned goods\, repackaging bulk items\, helping salvage and wash damaged products\, and working to keep the warehouse and trucks clean and food safe.  \n  \nThis event is allowing for up to 20 spots and will fill quickly so please register as soon as possible. His work has revolved largely around the experience of care for both patients and clinicians utilizing evidence\, Caritas\, implementation science\, interprofessional teamwork\, and professional governance to realize improvements. Doug is the Regional Chief Nursing Officer at Trinity Health-Michigan and Chief Nursing Officer at Trinity Health Oakland. He has served in this capacity over the past 7 years. He has earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Wayne State University (1984)\, a Master of Science in Nursing at Madonna University (2000)\, and Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Detroit Mercy (2021). Additionally\, he holds Certification in Executive Nursing Practice from the American Organization of Nursing Leadership. \n  \nJan Harrington-Davis\, SVP\, Talent Attraction\, Corewell Health \nDriven\, ambitious\, creative\, intelligent\, analytical…those are a few words that describe Jan Harrington-Davis.
