2026 MCACHE Annual Job Shadow Day

JOB SHADOW DAY

Fact Sheet

The annual MCACHE Job Shadow Day is an opportunity for students enrolled in health care administration programs to experience a day in the life of a Healthcare Leader.

The Student Activities Committee coordinates the pairing of students with volunteer Healthcare Leaders and the job shadowing traditionally takes place during the months of February or March.

Healthcare Leader volunteers are welcome from any health care organization and will be matched with students from our ACHE Higher Education Network (HEN) programs.

The following are objectives that can be met with your involvement in Job Shadow Day:

Student-

*Learn about daily operations and how degree requirements relate to real world applications

*Opportunity to explore the culture of the health system and learn about the organization *Participate and interact with experienced health care leaders on a personal level

*Receive tips for succeeding in the workplace, including necessary qualities and relationships needed

Healthcare Leader-

*Opportunity to learn about the next generation of Healthcare Leaders and make a difference in their career paths

*Provide students with a Healthcare Leader level experience: itinerary for the day (meetings, lunch, networking, tour of facility)

*Discuss issues impacting health care systems and help student learn about the organization

*Discuss student’s personal goals, questions, and challenges they see in health care
