Emerging Leaders – Community Engagement – Camp Casey (This is a new date…the June 22 date was canceled due to the extremely hot weather)

The next MCACHE Community Engagement event will be partnering with Camp Casey to help deliver “horse camp” to the homes of children who are often too sick to attend regular summer camp. We are excited to offer two separate event dates to offer flexibility! The first date is Saturday, June 22nd from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm in Monroe, MI. The second is June 30th from 10:30 am-1 pm in Detroit, MI. Pick a date that works best for you! The home address will be emailed as the dates get closer.
Camp Casey is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing joyful and therapeutic horseback riding experiences for children and families affected by childhood cancer, sickle cell disease, and other life-threatening illnesses. Founded in memory of a young horse enthusiast, Casey Foote, the organization offers three cost-free programs—Horsey House Calls, Cowboy Camp Outs, and Outlaw Outings—to over 1,600 participants annually across Michigan.
In partnership, MCACHE will be helping with activities such as horse grooming and safety lessons, individual horseback rides, team-building games, arts and crafts projects, hand-made horse treats, and a pizza party!
This event allows 10 volunteers at each event and will fill quickly so please register as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing you at this event!
