How the Healthcare Industry Can Attract and Keep Talent

The healthcare industry continues to evolve and change rapidly when it comes to patient care, technology, and flexibility. So, what does that mean for attracting talent, redesigning work, and an increasing presence of AI? Join MCACHE and Inforum’s HealthcareNEXT’s innovation-focused event where we will hear a diverse group of experts present research on understanding different generations of the workforce for retention – especially Gen Z – finding flexibility in roles, and virtual nurse programming.

 

Doug Dascenzo, Regional Chief Nursing Officer, Trinity Health

Doug Dascenzo is an experienced healthcare executive energized by innovation, creativity, diversity, and inclusion. His work has revolved largely around the experience of care for both patients and clinicians utilizing evidence, Caritas, implementation science, interprofessional teamwork, and professional governance to realize improvements. Doug is the Regional Chief Nursing Officer at Trinity Health-Michigan and Chief Nursing Officer at Trinity Health Oakland. He has served in this capacity over the past 7 years. He has earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Wayne State University (1984), a Master of Science in Nursing at Madonna University (2000), and Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Detroit Mercy (2021). Additionally, he holds Certification in Executive Nursing Practice from the American Organization of Nursing Leadership.

 

Jan Harrington-Davis, SVP, Talent Attraction, Corewell Health

Driven, ambitious, creative, intelligent, analytical…those are a few words that describe Jan Harrington-Davis. A Michigan native, Jan is a great example of what can be accomplished when hard work and determination are combined. Joining Corewell Health in 2022, Jan leads the Talent Attraction teams in designing and executing recruitment strategies to attract, evaluate and retain high performing team members. She brings over 20 years of experience in talent attraction, workforce diversity, and employee relations. As the former Vice President, Talent Acquisition- EEO Diversity & Workforce Solutions, for Henry Ford Health System, Jan oversaw talent acquisition and workforce diversity initiatives and deployed a workforce development strategy to align diversity initiatives across the organization while removing barriers to employment and promotional opportunities.

 

Shreen Sater, Founder, The Curve Collective

After pursuing her BA in Psychology and English, Shreen completed a year of research at the University of Michigan studying Cross Cultural Studies and Organizational Behavior. Following her year of research, she began a career in Marketing Strategy. Shreen has consulted on various strategies from acquisition and loyalty, on verticals ranging from retail to pharmacy for multiple Fortune 500 companies, working closely with businesses to achieve the best rests for the company and its consumers. Throughout her career, she has found an underlying theme in the things that she truly enjoyed doing – helping to build effective teams and develop leaders at all levels. After realizing her true passion, while continuing to work in marketing, Shereen began pursuing my Master’s Degree in Learning and Organizational Change (graduating June of 2021), simultaneously obtaining a Corporate Coaching Certificate (completed in March of 2020) at Northwestern University.
